Hello Family and Friends!
Just a quick thank you to all of Gino’s Italy family/cousins, who hosted us daily while we were in Bari/Corato, Italy Sept. 1 and 2 and 9-14th, with giant meals and warm hospitality!
It was a trip to remember…especially for Gino, since he hadn’t seen any of his Italy cousins since he was 11 years old!
They were even nice enough to drive to Potenza and Brindisi (in the mountains) where the De Vito (my side of the family) lived in the late 1800’s. (emotional for me), though I couldn’t find anyone 140 years old to interrogate. haha. 2700 feet straight up to the little town of Brindisi. sharp and winding turns all the way up. SO SCARY! but we made it!
(I’ll post photos on FB soon) In addition, we enjoyed a 7 night cruise to the Greek Islands and Venice, prior to the family Italy visit. THANKS AGAIN, SOLDANO FAMILY!
Summer is well-over. FALL is in full-swing! We still can enjoy some great weather, and, of course, the breath-taking change of tree colors! (We know that it is a long drive to the Upper Peninsula. Still, it’s well-worth it, to put some days together, during the first 10 days of October, to see the gorgeous colors of nature. Try to arrive during the peak of the window of colors!)
Most of October shall be split between Illinois, and the Upper Peninsula of Northern WI/and Michigan. The last couple of days of the month, we shall return to South Florida for our Halloween Events in Delray Beach.
Because, the events in the UP are private, they won’t be shown in bold print. However, the senior communities do open their facilities to friends/neighbors. That is why we publish dates/times.
We will keep you informed if any new venues pop up this month. In the meantime, thank you, as always, for your support!
